So I came across a story about a ten year old girl gave birth to a son after a 31 week pregnancy, the baby was premature and weighed in at 3.3lbs. According to
www.nydailynews.com the child was born by Cesarean section at the Women’s Hospital in the city of Puebla and is in the intensive care unit recovering from pneumonia. Okay here's the kicker, there's no report on who fathered the child however there is an investigation going on to find out if the girl was sexually assaulted. You would think that when the girl showed signs of pregnancy the authorities would have began their investigation at that point not after delivery! Mexican state laws say young moms are unable to have abortions unless a girl can prove she was the victim of sexual assault. The state’s minimum age of consent is 12 and women who undergo abortions in Puebla face a fine or prison sentence if they are unable to prove they were sexually abused. If you ask me they need to raise that age of consent I mean really what does a 12 year old know about sex? We live in a crazy world!
